As for it breaking it was quite a surprise. I had even checked all the fluids before leaving! Only thing needing a top up was the drivers swivel hub.

George, who is going to do the work?

I think yours was converted by Bruce Davis Performance Landys at Annangrove or John E Davis Motorworks (predecessors to BDPL).

Maybe it's worth talking to them.

I spoke to KLR Auto and they use Dickies for transporting broken down LR.

Do you have NRMA Premium Care? They will transport it to the nearest LR specialist (or further) at no charge. I had my P38A brought back to KLR after the flex plate broke at Orange - no LR people out there. Tusker had his brought back to Sydney from interstate.

I really recommend Premium Care for any LR owner owing the dearth of LR specialists around. See Our Membership Packages - NRMA Motoring & Services

This is the go if you have it. I have the equivalent top RACQ cover (Ultra Care). Went from Club Care to Ultra Care after what they have done for other people in our club (including bringing a Patrol and camper back from Adelaide). Not that expensive either when you consider it is about $10 more than two Club Care memberships (bottom level) and it can cover both you in any car and your nominated car. So I nominated myself as the driver (was already in my name) and then my wife's car as the car.

No NRMA cover at this point. I paid NRMA to flat bed it to Dobbo's as steve has basic cover. NRMA was willing to take it to cessnock for free but not the 10 mins up the road. It is a Bruce Davis conversion but it has all been changed since then by the previous owner. I have a friend who is a ZF mechanic in Canberra so thought get it to him. He can drop the box and do a propper inspection ,quote for me. We can get a trailer big enough so now just have to sort out the tow vehicle. Waiting on a call tonight about getting it home.

These are the only 2 pics I took. Good self-recovery, no snatching needed.
