    Things you see

Saw about a 9ft croc heading downstream in our local river ( Aligator Creek ) this morning.
Just minding his own business. Gave him a coee but he ignored me.
Probably heading out to get away from all of the mud and crap coming down.
    Beautiful creatures.
    Cheers.

On my last trip to cape york, Slim the keeper at the jardine Roadhouse took us to the potoon at night to show us the 12Ft residant Croc, wow what a site , I had never previously seen one of these creatures prior to that night, was only a few meters away from us.
on it's back legs ready to launch out of the water , wouldn't even blink. then someone threw a small pebble into the water still didn't move.

probably waiting for a roo to come and try and have a drink. awesome site Olbod.

They wait...and wait...and wait. 3rd time bye bye. Some advise to all Cape York travellers, dont go down to the river at the same spot 3 times in a row.

Good way to go though.... if you've gotta go that is.

Chucking a stick for my dog once in the Barron River nr Cairns. A Barra clear jumped out of the water just 10m from my dog HEADING TOWARD MY SWIMMING DOG! Now Barras dont normally do that unless something got them really spooked. I got Molly out of there real fast, the hairs on my back (and wifes) were up I can tell you.

The following month a 4m Croc was spotted where the cane train bridge is (locals will know that spot).

    He'd be okay Pat.
The little Bird wouldn't hurt him !

There was a female croc last summer that used to sunbake here on the boat ramp, havent seen her this year.

Bit further down the road at Rocky Dam Creek, you have to be careful
not to anchor your tinnie in the same place, two or three days in a row.
Likely to get your boat bitt but if ya bash him with an oar he gets the message. Wise to move on tho.
Dont you just love our wildlife.
    Cheers.
