You need an Entomologist not an Insectologist.

Tell that to a mate of mine who bailed out of his car at 40klm/h and near choked himself when the seat belt caught around his neck and dragged him 50 metres till his car crashed into a tree, AFTER a Huntsman dropped in his lap after turning down the sun visor. He's really phobic about any insect, but especially spiders.
I wonder how many accidents (crashes), deaths and injuries have been caused by spiders dropping into drivers laps, Regards Frank.

Not that huntsmans are harmful, but they sure are distracting.

I recently had one in the Rangie and he (sic) would pop out when you didn't expect it and give you a startle. Managed to coax him out the window and closed it after him, but didn't he hang on for a while, some kilometers in fact.

It would have been the reason for quite a number of accidents I suppose. Richard Asquith told me a story once about a couple that emigrated from South Africa, to get some of their money out of the country they bought a new 4 door RR in Cape Town and shipped it over here when they came. The vehicle had been stored and unused while in South Africa. When they arrived in Sydney they went straight to Asquith and Johnston at Homebush and sold what was an essentially new car. One of A&J's employees went out to Port Botany to pick up the car from customs. As he was driving up the Southern Cross Drive a Baboon Spider slipped out from under the roof-lining. The driver locked up the brakes on all 4 wheels and drove up onto the median strip, where he left the car. Knowing the size of the particular spider I have no wonder.

I wasn't sure if there was a word for the study of arachnids and I didn't look it up.
