Yep, I know how it is, my first vehicle was a top of the range BMX too ....... well it wasn't top of the range, but it got up a bit of speed down hill and had a fairly comfy seat.

I don't understand your first comment there. They will know what their lives are like, just not what yours is like.

Not everyone has to work hard, some people are given everything. That is just the way it is. Everyone is different.

I dont know what the issue is, tbh, my first car was a mercedes and nothing wrong with that.
Mind you, it was a 1965 220se, powder blue, bat wings and deep red mb-tek. Cost 2500$, wonderful car.

Judging by that I think you understood exactly what I meant.

Sure they will know what life is like, thats a given, i was more referring to the life of the average joe who has to get up go to work most days and earn the things they own, not just get them handed to them on a plate.

Mine was a 1980 Model 1600 4 door escort, great car.

I would have loved a range rover though.

gee Ron......what did you think of me when I first bothered you at about the age of 24 or 25?

If my dad was still about I wouldn't get 5 minutes with the rangie..........

Have to agree with some of the other posts, its life, some people just have lots and some have little, and I feel its unfortunate but some people get all the way through life with lots and not knowing what its like to have nothing, on the other hand the haves help the economy keep ticking over for the struggling havenots.

If my parents gave me a car like a RRS as a teenager I wouldn't have been able to afford the insurance, and possibly not even the petrol, then again I guess if they gave me such a car they would also pay to feed and insure it.

I got a PM on RR.net just a few weeks back from a fellow saying he was buying his first car and he wanted a P38 and what to look out for, and I replied with a few simple things around o-rings air suspension and overheating, and to advise get one on LPG if possible as they drink a bit of petrol, never heard back, he pm'd me because he saw I was in Adelaide like he was. I see some P38's go for 6K and some go for 15K....never know....

I always wanted an ambulance as a kid, until I was about 22 and I test drove an ex-ambulance F250. I consider myself very lucky I had a good reliable first car - 88 Camry.

Don't worry - I saw it but as I know what Ace does for a crust, I don't want to antagonise him just in case I'm out his way!
