    My first job sealed

    Hi Guys
My first job got its first coat of bitumen today. All went well, especially the cartons after work!!!!
It involved taking a 6m wide gravel road out to 6m sealed surface (around 2m wider road),had to fill with gravel, waterbind(mix water at the correct ratio) get the compaction up and trim.
Looks a million bucks, drives well,Im not convinced its the greatest till I see it after rain(BUT I HAVE SEEN MUCH WORSE IN THE SHIRE!!!),IE puddles where they dont belong!!!!.Everyone says Ive done a top job, especially seeing Im a learner and had nobody to guide me on the job.Learnt heaps, that will benefit me heaps in the future, stuff EXPERTS cant descirbe till you have to sort it yourself!!!
I actually took the camera to take pics put got ex-communicated from my esky till all was done.
Its been a tad stressfull as once its sealed its there for ever!!!!
JUST HOPING ALL IS AS GOOD AS THE WORKMATES SAY!!!!!!
    Its getting tested BIGTIME already.
They started harvesting woodchips(bluegum plantation) today,8 roadtrains a day to start with,to increase depending on productivity!!!!
Much rather doing this with a big challenge than grading haul roads on mines I feel(AT THE MOMENT!!).

    cool

    Hi Andy

    Sounds like fun.
Wish I had something to show for a day at graft.
All I see is the **** end of a ship sailing into the big blue and hoping something we fixed dosn't break and she has to come back again, usually in the middle of the night.

    Cheers

Well done, Andy. An official opening ceremony should include a convoy of Landrovers.

Sorry mate,Marradong rd,the bloody shortcut everyones Tom Tom sends them on for the shortest trip Williams to Mandurah.
We couldnt belive the traffic counters saying its the busiest gravel road in the shire.Working out there answered it,a steady stream of grey nomads with caravans/camper trailers plus many other assorted vehicles, many stopping to ask where the hell they were
Started maintence grading the York/Williams this arvo Mark, its rough as guts at the moment, done the first 4 ks Williams end will finish it monday!!!
