    Gold fields 4WDing

Is it Badgingarra Rock that heads north of Southern Cross? Im looking for a 3 day 2 night trip from here to Kal via the bush.

    Any suggestions?

BTW: Hi to you all, I have been away for a while.

Are you thinking of Baladjie Rock?

    See here

Badgingarra is a town on the Brand Hwy.

Just watch out the water at Karalee dam is extremely cold. Nice spot though. My father in law grew up in this area and lived at #7 pump, which was a rather decent sized town once upon a while.

    I'm confused.

Looking at NatMap, I can find two separate locations relating to the names given in the posts above.

Baladjie Rock / Baladjie Nature reserve is at 30° 57' 24" S, 118° 52' 35" E and is approximately 45km north of Bodallin, accessed via the Bodallin North Road.

Karalee Rock is at 31° 15' 03" S, 119° 50' 34" E and is just north (3 km) of the highway between Yellowdine and Bullfinch (turn-off is 19km east of Yellowdine). This is 14km west of the No 7 tank, which I assume is where Craig is referring to.

Can anyone enlighten on which one is the Baladjie shown in the other post linked from this post, as it definitely looks worth a visit. Very similar to the Karonie Rock and dams east of Kalgoorlie, but with even more of the original infrastructure still in place.
    Cheers .........

Baladjie Rock, as per the other post is about 5 km North of the Koorda Southern Cross Road.

I just had a look at Google Maps and I reckon if you head North on the Bodallin North road to the Koorda Southern Cross Road then turn left the turn off is not far on the right. I can see the Rock on Google Maps with the satelite imagery turned on.

Just Re-read your question. The dam and flume are at Karalee not Baladjie. Karalee is approx 18km East of Yellowdine.

    Anyone interested in Geo-Caching?

Thought it could make a good trip for all us explorers, after a bit of a challenge! We could incorporate four wheel driving, camping etc, finding the caches.

    What you reckon?

I've had a look at a couple of Geo-Caching websites, but haven't tried it yet.

    Thanks Phil.

Might be heading down to Perth in the next couple of weeks and should have a bit of time up my sleeve. Will have to try and get in there for a look.
    Cheers .........
