We've had 680 MM ( 27 inches ) since 3am this morning !
Mackay is under water.
People have been advised to stay indoors because the crocs are
swimming around in the suburbs.
We got out to Sarina this arvo and got groceries. No milk or bread left.
The roads are closed now tho and they are predicting another 150mm
tonight.
In the last 6 weeks we have had 1240 mm.
Glad I dont have to go out into the yard on a regular basis
Cheers, I think.
PS: Is it raining at Maree ?

Pouring down in Townsville at the moment, not as heavy as Mackay though, you guys have really copped there!
G'day All, I saw the flooding on the news and thought to myself with all that water in the town, and people wading around in it, I wondered where the crocs were, no doubt going thru the swim thru at the local looking for foolhardy souls. Shame it really never rains where it's needed, cheers and good luck to those members up in it, Dennis![]()
Just heard from Niece in Walkerston, west of MacKay.
She said they have had 40 inches, (1016mm), no power, no roads, but they live on the top of a hill.
I guess that is something![]()
Apparently the monsoon trough is heading back up our way, not looking forward to it but you guys could use a break.
Hang in there
Our thoughts are with you.
No bread or milk!
I hope you've got beer.
All that water going straight in the ocean. what a waste.
Paul.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
over 400mm here last night.
I can't believe the amount of rain you guys have had, I certainly have never experienced that much, must have hammered down for hours. I hope you don't have any expensive damage. Was there strong wind as well?

Where we are, ( 40k out of Mackay ) only 200 m from the beach, its slightly elevated and very sandy underneath. Water builds up but drains away very quickly. The roads out, flood and are cut very quickly, except
for Landrovers.
Its still raining. We had very little wind but the downpour lasted for hours on end.
Harro, we had plenty of bread and milk in the big freezer. My concern was for frozen pea's and potato's, fortunately we were able to stock up.
The little bird has mashed potato and pea's everynight for dinner so she
would have thought her throat was cut if we ran out and I would have copped it bigtime. Fording flooded, croc infested creeks just has to be done in a crisis.
She also likes bread and honey sandwiches for lunch and has numerous cups of tea each day. White with two, thanks.
I feel for those who went under tho.
My old Ford was parked at the airport and apparently it was submerged.
Wont be able to get into town untill next week to recover it.
Probably take it straight to the tip and I bet I will have to pay !
Fortunately the family Mooney is out of town and dry.
Cheers.
