Met Scallops and Mrs Scallops today, when they dropped in and kindly relieved me of a genuine Land Rover Defender towbar. Dan very kindly allowed me to take a drive in his 2007 Defender, and I must say, I am impressed after such a short drive. That 2.4 diesel doesn't seem to have any turbo lag compared to the Td5 and delivers a good turn of speed as well. I am comparing with my own 2006 Td5 here, and the new one seems to be quieter as well.

A civilised Defender, what will they think of next. Not that I will be buying another one though. Quite happy with what we have.

And we were very happy to relieve you of the towbar - and yes - it's nice to be able to put faces to names -and a pleasure to meet you both and chat a while.

But whilst you were enjoying a drive in our Defender - we were enjoying drooling all over Leon! I should have offered to chamois it down for you.
