Well as many of you know, if you have been round long enough, know that I lost 2 shepherds last year. Benz-8yrs old, Good Friday-ie April. We then got a young pup which we called Diesel months later, whose mother was Benz'shalf sister. Sadly we lost Diesel at 9mths old at Xmas due to a snake bite and a tick finished him off. The tears have dried up, but we all miss him terribly as he was our combined families first dog.
I rang the breeder a couple of weeks later to be told that Diesels father was having a litter with a different mother....they were born on my daughter's birthday.....a sign maybe. Yesterday they turned 6 weeks old so we went up to have a look at them, haven't chosen one yet, going to wait another week or so, but our new fella...who will be called "Maximus" or "Maxxy" for short will be one of them. There were some red eyes today

Awwww

Mum was a bit toey as you can understand:
All too much
So in 2 weeks our new family member will come home and aren't we excited,

Yep, beautiful and awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww are some of the things that come to mind, 2 weeks is now seeming like a bloody long time. Was just great to see the kids so excited, as losing 2 of their best mates 9mths a part was a big hit. Plus he will get to grow up with our other new addition of the 2 legged kind who is expected to "drop" in early April. Cripes a puppy and a newborn...what was I thinking( yeah yeah can just imagine the responses that may come from the group known as the SWMBO lot
),

They are gorgeous Stevo, and I hope you have better luck this time. Great thing, a dog/mate in the family, but we wont be having another, at least not for quite a few years, as these days they are perceived as antisocial, and there are so few places one can take their pets when in the outdoors. As we will hopefully be doing a lot more travelling in the coming years, another dog will have to wait.

Gorgeous work Stevo... will never replace Benzy or Diesel but will be good to have a new puppy around to be part of the family.

Well today I start fencing off part of the yard so that I only have to puppy proof a small part until he is big enough and cant go through the dog fencing into the back paddock. Also some more clearing to do done so no hidey spots for snakes or the like, and then wait impatiently till we can pick him up.. Like Sharlea said yesterday that its not hard to see who it the most excited

G'day Stevo68
Nice looking litter that lotjust pick the one that comes to you by it's self, as it has picked you
Mum looks like a nice type as well, we have at the moment a 11week old Border Collie pup, Male, Black and White, my old Chocolate dog's great, great, Grandson
B & W carrying colour
but having a 8-11 week old in the present wet weather is, er, Interesting
cheers
You've had some terrible luck, so I hope that you have a better run with Maxxy.
They sure are lookers when they are little! We have a Kelpie x Shepherd, but one day I'd love a pure breed Shepherd. Amazing dogs...
