You poor bugger, that's an awful thing but you did the best thing for her so keep the memories of her close and I bet she's thankful for what you so painfully have to do.

Sorry to hear of your loss, as you know I lost my 8 yr old shepherd at Easter and my 9mth old pup at Xmas (hmmm maybe will just pass on religious hols this year!!), so share you and your families pain. Im sure Kelly is up there with all our beloved lost but not forgotten family members of the 4 legged kind,

Matt, I'm immeasurably sorry to hear this. It's an inevitable day that scares the hell out of me, and has for the last 13 years. You'll not ever forget Kelly and the fond memories will always live on. Till next time.

Its a terrible feeling dobbo,, I had 16 years with Burleigh, The Forum Kelpie, and it took us nearly 9 months before we got Guiness. They play such a big part of our lives for such a long time, its nearly impossible to understand the fact that yes, you will get over it, yes its ok to bawl over the loss of a pet,
yes the next one will be different but all those wonderful dog/master emotions will be the same with the new one.

Theres been a few AULRO pets head north over the last year or two,, and like the previous post said,
when I go,
thats where I want to end up,,

I know how tough that is and how gutted you must be feeling.
You've got me thinking back to my "Missy", and I still get a bit choked up after nearly six years ...
You'll always remember the "times" you had, good and bad, the things, the places.... they really are part of the family.

Kelpies are great dogs.
I have a 11yo Black and Tan that had to retire when I stuffed my back up as a farm worker,a real pain as a town dog,but he has saved me so much pain over the years he is a mate.
Great dog,still got lots of go even though he is an old fella.
Chin up,you will treasure your memories.Another will come when you are ready.
