    Just a thought

    G'day all,

I have a mate who has 2 D1 that he is going to be piecing one out of. Both have the CDL still in place. WE were both wondering if he takes the CDl off one of the D1's could i use it in my D2? Your wealth of knowledge would be much appreciated.

Yep, you can make it fit and work. Just so youre aware, it also apparently brings mroe noise into the cabin as it's not cable operated like the factory D2 setups.
    Cheers

Yes, but the floor and console clearances are a bit of a pain, you need to be very friendly with a die grinder... and some decent sealant....

Also, a D1 auto transfer shifter support bracket is different to the manual one, you would be wanting to fit a TF shifter support bracket FROM an auto TO an auto.
And Slunnie is right, the noise was worse, but some of the reason was that it was difficult to soundproof the floor effectively after poking the shifter etc through. The OE cable is a far better prospect, pity the '03 on assembly is soooo expensive.
