After getting bitten by a guarda snake a few years ago and the resulting ICU stay, I am not prone to leaving them alive around my kids.

In our old house the snakes used to come in from the laneway that ran along the back of our property. We used to dispatch them fairly quickly. (4 children & 2 dogs) A shovel is my friend!!!

Never seen one in our backyard Anya and we have a laneway behind with no front driveway.

But when we lived in Merredin, they loved the place - maybe it was the chook yard.
    Cheers .........

This little fella was stalking about my front yard last week

Apparently the baby browns are heaps more deadly than their grown ups. They hit you with all they have on their first bite, the adults meter the dose delivered in proportion to the size of the animals they hit.

I shifted him to a secluded wildlife space near a water source about 7km from town.
