I have to say LR have no defense and people here just saying get used to it are living with the fairies. We are in 2008 and there is absolutely no excuse for build quality like that. LR should be ashamed of that. That is not a minor floor but a major one. Thi is the issues that stop people buying these cars.

Lol we are talking British assembly of a British design with British materials and you are talking about quality in same breath unbeleiveable.
Unless they dismantle production machines and ship them to the sub continent and then train indian's to build it l don't see any change to current build quality or assembly qauality changing just because owner is now Tata as that what happened with BMW and FORD.
I see it here on site local crew have weird ideas about work ethics and don't see why they need to work and why they can't see down in crib huts for whatever minor complaint they got for up to 7 hours and still expect to b epaid for their time and trouble for attending work.
Japanese build quality is as much a cultural issue as it is a workplace and management ethos thing.
UK workers don't have it, Italian Fiat and Alf Romeo assembly workers dont have it but at least their designers have flair in styling design of cars.
BMW Mercedes Benz and Porsche (Germans do)
That's why in automative terms UK car makers have virtually disappeared from the world

That gap is meant to be there, has always been there in this position since the structure entered production in 1958. Mind you, it also is supposed to have a thick rubber seal in the space, which usually keeps the water out - in my experience this is not one of the usual places for leaks!Quote:

there is a rubber seal in there but the gap is so big it doesn't touch either side of the rubber and you can see about 2mm gap in places.
Is this perhaps a matter of merely tightening the bolts that hold down the top?
