    Urban Cowboys

Surely we must have all seen the choice of vehicle Cowboys and the odd Cowgirl drive, the vehicles that the thrill seekers drive are way more illegal then most 4wds, you have probably all seen a few around, these are the old holden utes, lowered(why when you live in the bush), huge wheels, a massive rollover bar with 50 spotlights, a recycled Mack truck bar on the front with another 40 lights, a 30 foot high Arial for the Radio whipping back and forth and the UHF arial cant forget that, generally have towel of the top of a bar for a dash cover VB side up, Beer tap hanging from the mirror, mudflaps on the back that if you drove backwards could be used as a bull dozer, splashed with various stickers from the B and S Balls to Bundy and the venerable Cobargo Pub sticker, the Cowgirl version may have a Real Cowgirls Ride Horses sticker on the back window and are genrally cleaner then the Cowboy version of the vehicle, not to forget 375 clearance lights everywhere, oh and a waterbag dragging on the ground up the front, now there is nothing wrong with individualism is there.

The moral would be, they look funny sitting in the Woolies carpark among all the Toymotas and Magnas, I seen one last night and I had to stop and marvel at the various accoutrements the owner had adorned his two door steel horse with.

But you have to love them. I also like the Hilux that gets turned into a mini Mack truck look, we have a few of them out here.

Other than the 5 poster bull bar and roof mounted spotlights I wouldn't think anything else is questionable on them.

Pretty rare that I've seen a lowered one.

Would think a lifted 4wd would be more dangerous. Even legally lifted ones.

what's the idea of the twin 10 Ft antenna's on the front mounted on the Bull Bar , does having 2 x 9db gain Antennas give you a 18 db gain so you can enough gain on UHF to broadcast to the moon?

Two antennae are against the rules, in Qld, anyway. See my post in Sealed beam lights

I wouldn't want to drive one, never been a fan of Holden/Ford utes, but I love the look.

Seems to me that the trucked up Aussie ute is Australian contribution to car customisation.

    Pimped.

    Riced.

    Cheers
