Better safe then sorry
Tonite my nieghbours alarm in her house went off, our street is quiet dark and dingey, my missus staggered across the road with child number 3 in tow, saw the front door was open and saw what she thought was someone peering around the edge and the door shut, she came back home and rounded me up, meanwhile child number one was about to run out the front door with a baseball bat, that doesnt leave the house I said as I went across the road, not keen to go inside I turned the car around and lit the joint up with the hi beam and called the cavalry, in about 4 mins after the call was made the first car arrived, he was senior sergent he went inside and we could see the torch flashing about and two more cars pulled up and 6 guys came screaming out and were jumping over fences and what not, they couldnt find anything but the front door was forced, we think when maryanne came back to get me the buggers down the runner, my wife and kid were all set to go inside and have alook, I made them understand the foly of said action if they were to run into a drug crazed person with a knife or worse in that house, where would they be!, all in all it took about 6 mins for no less then 7 Police to hit the scene and they were real efficient, it sounds like nothing was taken as it happened so quick and we were onthe site fairly fast, funny thing was not one other nieghbour bothered to come out, not one!, see how they go if there house gets knocked over and are in the same boat, I would feel happier knowing my nieghbours were there to watch things until we got home, funny old world we live in now. I had to explain to the kids how if the Police were to roll up and find them standing around with baseball bats and a shinai things would be hairy for them, while I commend them on the valour to want to go and beat who ever it was stupid its not the way to handle it, let the boys in blue do it , they have the guns and know how.
