South Coast to Cooma the Scenic Route

Anybody traveling to Cooma for the Land Rover 60th that doesn't want to be bored to death by freeways are hereby invited to travel with other Land Rover Fans from the beautiful South coast of NSW directly inland from Moruya, Batemans Bay, Narooma area via some of the best Trails and camping areas around, scenery is unsurpassed.
This is not a rock climbing expedition, the Trails are moderate and interesting.
It will take an overnight camp at Bendethra or elsewhere (a couple of different routes available), will be leaving after lunch on Thursday the 20th and will arrive Cooma Friday afternoon.
The distance, say, from Sydney is a bit further than heading down the Freeway and of course it will take longer, but that's what it's about, spending Quality time with your Land Rover, Oh, and your family as well. Don't miss out on a great trip, you can PM me or email me Frank.Stanton@bigpond.com or just reply to this post, Regards Frank.

Come on, there has to be some Land Rover Owners out there that would LOVE to join with other Landy owners to have some adventure and fun on the way to Cooma, doesn't matter where your coming from, or your experience, it's how you get there that counts, Regards Frank.

I'm tempted. I had considered setting off from Burrill Lake to Cooma, either Moruya-Deua NP-Gourock NP or Bodalla-Dampier SF.

I'll have to see if I can get down there for Thursday.

I'd be in it Frank - except it's a bit far to travel from Kal. Also probably too bloody cold over there too - we're enjoying 40 plus degrees at the moment.
    Cheers .........

Brian, we had a couple of days of 17 c weather, it was snowing in Tassie and we were getting the chill. Nice now though it's been up in the mid twenties and perfect weather. Would love to have you along, some terrific country round here, you know you are always welcome here anytime, Myles left his back up phone in the work truck, he just rang me from the Lodge phone, seems he got home and crashed on the bed and only woke up 1/2 an hour ago. He will drop those papers and fees around tomorrow, seems the hot weather is taking it's toll, he'll get used to it.
It's funny Brian it's hot as over there and our coldest wind over here is from the west, you must get the good bit and we get the leftovers, Regards Frank.

Burril Lake is just up the road, come down and travel with us, be a great run, Thursday will beat the traffic too, Regards Frank.

When I was working in the shed on Sunday when Myles came round, the thermometer said 48 degrees. After moving it to the "cooler" side of the shed (in front of the big industrial fan I've got in there) it dropped to 44 degrees.

Would certainly love to get over that way some time and get off the main roads a bit. I know the area reasonably well, but more the other side of the mountains. My parents used to have the dry cleaners at Tumut and I spent a few holidays there. But the only 4WD's they had were a Toyota Tercel and a Subaru wagon - not much ground clearance in either. They sold their 60 series when they moved down there from Mt Carbine because of the high cost of rego / insurance in NSW.

Just got a phone call earlier tonight - looks like we got the job I've been after and I'll be spending a bit of time up in Mt Carbine myself - start in about 2 weeks.
    Cheers .........
