Opposite Lock will sell you a carrier for the side / back of your roof rack. Painful as you have them above your head when you need them. Think about getting rid of one of those handle things on the back of the Landy and making a carrier such as the photos attached. A lot better

Have seen the damaged caused when they have been mounted on wheel carriers and have 'collected' trees bits on the way thru. Not good

    Easy to make one.
If you cant DIY ask if anyone local on AULRO can build you one. There are plenty here handy with the metalwork!!!
I would do it but you are a long way away.
If you get real stuck let me know,I will build one, wouldnt cost too much I would think.POSTAGE WOULD BE THE KILLER!!!

I got some "Kaymar" brackets that bolt onto the side of my roofrack...
    holds a shovel too ....

thought about the spare wheel mounting, too heavy for the rear door hinges apparently, also a mate has one there and it hooks all sorts of stuff overhead (they stick up above the roofline)

Depends on what you've got and what size jack...

In my RaRo, I mounted it in the rear foot well, on the kick panel under the rear seats. You can get brackets where the jack just sits on it and is then clamped down.

On the 110, it's on the roof rack. Very simple, a long bolt through the rack and through one of the jack holes near the base (basically to take the bulk of the weight). Then a simple bungee arrangement at the other end to stop it rattling (the LR part to hold the jacking tools in the back of a RaRo classic would work).

Yeah, course it's legal ... (till they catch ya)
Something about protrusions and sharp edges ..Blah,blah,blah

when I'm in town the jack lives at home or usually across the rear footwell ... if you did the same around town and only had it on the front when you're bush it shouldn't be a drama
