Mud Stuff place is a few miles from where I live. Have had a request for some so I emailed them to ask if I could call round and pick some up and also a Mud Tray for my 110. That was last weekend.

On Wednesday, no reply so I checked their websites again. They were going away on Friday for a weeks holiday, so I thought I would go around on Thursday with some beer vouchers. Found their place in deepest, darkest Yorkshire, no one home!!!!

Went back home, checked their website, yep on holiday from next day. Phoned them up and got answer machine saying they were on holiday.

Looks like I might have some mud consoles in my luggage on the plane!

    Regards

    Leeds

PS For those of you clever enough to spot the flaw in my plan and say I should have phoned before I went. Well I wrote down number before I went out BUT missed one digit out! Drat and damnations!!!

Don't get us started - yes we are a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations, just like Canada, Pakistan, India and Zimbabwe!

We are not an English colony, although we were a colony of the British crown was a historical fact 108 years ago.

The fact is that a lot of Australian immigrants pre-Federation in 1901 were Irish political convicts and Irish fleeing the "Potato Famine" caused by wealthy land owning English. It is also noteworthy that most of the convicts stayed at the end of their imprisonment while many of the British soldiers and sailors were repatriated at the end of their enlistment.

Since the United Kingdom entered the European Economic Community in the 1960's, Australians have required a Visa to enter the UK, so it is only right and just that we treat U.K citizens in the same manner as we treat Romanians and Mexicans.

So we are happy to call Betty Windsor the Queen of Australia, but are not very happy to be called an English Colony.

Although we are happy to serve you a beer (ale) that has been left out of the fridge so that the shock is not too much for your palate!

Yuk! Didn't drink that stuff in England, so not likely to here with the weather a good few degrees hotter.

I was of course just joking around I just knew someone would bite

I moved here to Oz about four years ago and it really is the second best thing we have ever done. Never regreted it for a moment and will never live in the UK again. It was very difficult getting a visa but thats life I suppose.

As far as a ruling monarchy / government or what economic / political ties Australia has or has not I dont really care one way or another I'm just happy too live here and glad to say our son is Australian, (he was born here).

Welcome and please get your citizenship!
Plenty are glad to live here and enjoy but this is also a matter of contention, so please do the right thing by us!

People may bite and I love a joke or a stir up, but it is painful to me.....and many.
I serve Poms that make comments like that beer, but I blow the dust off the top of tinnies I retrieve from the trunk in the middle of a summers day and glass it for them

A friend of our family was a maintenance chief in the RAN and was posted to the UK to learn maintenance of the Sea King Helicopters before they arrived in Oz. By the end of the first week in their new billets, the the RAN crew had refrigerated one line for the beer taps at the local inn.

At last report about 15 years after they left the line was still refrigerated.

We where both made citizens as soon as we where eligable.
You have to wait a year, (two now I think?) before you can apply.
