    Appropriate radios for older cars

Just been made aware of this, a Becker Mexico

    Becker Mexico - Hi-Tech Retro - Classic Driver - MAGAZINE - news

Becker Mexico Retro 7948 - Soundlabs Group

Ipod, navigation etc in a classic looking unit.

But at $A2,750 it would want to be good!

    Regards

Becker and Blaupunkt were THE names in car radios in the 60's - 70's. Top shelf stuff and always expensive. Used car ads would stress the brand names instead of just saying radio, or radio and heater. Something like "Austin-Healey BN4, genuine 1956 four speed and overdrive, 60,000miles, Pirelli Cinturatos, 1 3/4" SU's, Becker Mexico, heater, Lucas Flamethrowers, Le Mans headlights. $2200."

A mate of my brother did up a real nice Barracuda. It had the original wireless that was irrepairable due to an internal short and burn.Couldnt find an original replacement. He cut the face off it installed illumination and fitted a hinge. You lift the old fake face up to reveal a modern dukebox hiding behind it.Really well done and a hell of a lot cheaper too.
