Leather seats or not leather seats

    Evening,

    A question.

When buying a Land Rover. Would you prefer Leather seats or not? and why?

i was never into leather seats,
until i got them and now i much prefer them for the simple reason stated by rovernit, plus if kept conditioned then they look nicer also.

but seriously, I had the same dilemna .... however the leather is great for highway or offroad. Easier to keep clean than cloth. Just give it a going over with Menuiers leather conditioner or similar every 3 months to keep it supple.
Make sure it is in good nick to start with if buying second hand. Many people don't look after it properly.

I prefer leather but wondered about the heat / sun beating down on it and the sweat factor.....are these problems?

heat & sun will get it eventually - enjoy the 10 or so years from new if you keep it conditioned

Leather seats totally unsuitable for hot climates. Leave them in the sun and you can be badly burnt when you sit on them. Very, very, sweaty in our humid summers, your clothes in contact with leather are sodden with sweat in a very short time in a Queensland summer. Stain badly, & crack if not scrupulously cared for. We are talking off road vehicles here. Dirt, oil, sweat and neglect are part of the use pattern. Sturdy washable cloth faced seats are the only way to go.

Just because you drive down that track with your elbow out and your steel caps on a rubber mat doesnt mean EVERYONE does,,,
