Thread: Off type Ford drama

My Au is chewing up radiator cars, the brass seal ring under the cap that contacts the neck of the radiator keeps cracking and she looses water and pressure, this is my third cap in two years, the resevoir is only a year old and the neck looks good with no imperfections, it could be the fact the Supercheap caps are exactly that, Supercheap but they are CPC caps and been around since jesus played full back for jerusalem, I dont want to run the risk of the head gasket going in this heat . Anyone else come across this

Have never had that problem.
Does the plastic holding tank have a dead flat opening?
I'd look at that first, then fit a good quality cap and not screw it too tight.
Try Coventry Auto or Repco, for the cap.

Remember, if an AU gets hot, it goes into "Limp Home" mode, shuts down most of the cylinders and locks the gearbox into one gear.
