    staun tyre deflaters

    Morning all,
I am wondering if anyone has the Staun deflaters and are they as good as they seem? We have 3 other brands and they are so fiddley, slow and not too accurate.

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

They are good but i woulld just buy this from ARB an E-Z Tyre Deflator
Main reason is that by the time you have walked all the way round the car and put the stauns on and then taken them all off again when they have stopped it is quicker and easer with the E-Z tyre deflator. And the stausn do have a thing of not being all that accutate after a while. Plus the E_Z tyre is cheaper. And before you ask i do have both and have used both alot

I like mine. I get anxious that I've knocked the dial though and it'll go down to about 10psi so I usually check my tyres with a gauge after wards but that's just me being retentive.

They make it much easier, just don't rely on the preset. You'll soon get to know how long they take, & so wind them off a turn just beforehand. As mentioned, let down the last couple of psi using a gauge.

I love my ARB unit, but find it difficult to just use it as a tyre gauge. Any tips?

I have a set - used them for the first time on the GCLRO DARE exercise. They are said to be pre set to 18psi but mine dropped the pressure to between 11 and 15 psi so I need to reset them - but simple to use.

I've got a set of Staun deflators. Had them for a few years and only reset them once.

Two set at 20psi and two set at 25psi.

    This is what I use

I just use a tyre inflator nozzle (without the hose attached of course) and a good gauge. Cheap as chips

Just clip the nozzle on the valve and check the pressure every now and then with the gauge by sticking it on the nozzle - no need to to even take it off the tyre valve.

I'm happy with mine, but I check the pressures after deflation anyway.

I was using a vdo pressure gauge that I got from ARB, but it's often up to 3psi out, so now I use my trusty pencil gauge to check the pressures.
