Even politicians, no matter what you think of them, do not need to be referred to in an obviously derogatory manner.
It might seem witty but it loses it after being repeated a few times.
And polarising posts - some folks here are masters at it.

I thought 'K Rudd' wasn't derogatory. They were trying to make him sound young and cool. Like a rapper name.

    Not Krudd as in crud.

Your quite wrong - John Howard may have been Prime Minister but he never stopped being an ******** so his rise was only from being a lawyer to being a senior politician both positions being at the level of slime.

    Too right Scallops.
    Too many, too often lately.

Folks, can we get off the political crap, and the sniping posts?
WTF has any of that got to do with the original post in the thread? Nothing.
I'm all for a thread hijack or taking the mickey, but there's too much negative bitching lately.
Its not what this forum is about and it used to be known for the lack of it.
If you want to constantly whinge, bait and snipe, sod off to OL or some other forum, where they get off on bagging each other.

    Have a nice day...

    Love you all

Nearly... but I don't wish to name..... my uncle started out as a local garage mechanic in Adelaide hills at beginning of WWII>during WW merchant navy engineer>after war - regular army mechanic>then headed overseas to become head trainer of Thai army engineers>returned to Oz - became 2ic of WA Armed Forces> left army & headed to hammersley iron as chief engineer. A true gentleman who is now deceased, but who started out life as a very humble local garage mechanic.... and he remained a humble person all his life. RIP.

    Fact.

Land Rover (the losers) didn't even tender or EOI for the new contract.

Will be a few years off yet.

To those suggesting that the thread was becoming too divisive. My previous post was directed at politicians generally (all flavours) and I was using the Australian Reader’s Digest annual survey of trusted professionals as my basis. Trusted Occupations in a list of 26, politicians come last, immediately after car salesmen and lawyers rate only 21st.

It was directly related to the comment of public life in the original post.
