quite true, if we can get a comittment from a prospective buyer to make a purchase that day (or at least get the car sold pending finance) we'll usually drop a bit on price

what can i say...... money talks!

Car sales man know all the tricks, I mean every trick, if your an emotional type they will pick that up and know they can sucker you, impetuos people are at the mercy of the gods, when you first go to a dealership and your looking and the dude comes creeping along I say in a round about way go away if I see something I will whistle. My dad is brilliant to watch with these fellas he really knows how to turn the tables on them and screw them for a deal, I tend to be more abrupt as I have no time for BS or the typical lines they run, you are the one with the money, you have what he wants, how much of it you give him is up to you, let them put there offer on the table, sign nothing, commit to nothing, do not start agreeing with them, once you start agreeing they have you, remember these guys are pro power sellers they do all the courses, when you have there offer on so called best price and trade you so ok I am going home to think this out call you later, avoid giving them your number, u contact them, shop around for the best deal play one of against the other, whatever they offer take two and a half grand of straight away and start from there, if they dont accept just walk away and dont look book, its a buyers market out there.

The super slick ones make it even harder than this!

If this is too much trouble try a car broker. Generally they will get a really good price and it only costs a couple of phone calls!

I'm only just starting to talk with car dealers.
To my surprise, some have been ok.

I have NO experience. But from what I understand, be prepared to walk away. If they see you want the car, they won't budge on price.

I only just found this site for new cars awhile ago, I saw it on a billboard.
Car Showroom - Australias first dedicated New Car Showroom website - www.NewCarShowroom.com.au, you can do a reverse auction whereby car dealers will bid for your purchase by offering a lower price. But you have to pay ~400 bucks to open the auction.
