    Cape Riche trip 2

    Hi Guys
Deb Lindsay and myself spent the easter weekend down at Cape Riche with Graz and Jenny.
Weather wasnt the best, onshore winds big swell, bit of rain and overcast almost all weekend.
Only got out for a short time sat morn in the dingy, but as it started to whip up we called it off.Only got rubbish fish, couldnt find any King George which we were chasing.
We were most dissapointed back at the ramp,3 other dingys went out deeper together(safety in numbers???),they hooked into a school of pink snapper. The old bloke next to us was out solo in his dingy, got 2 3 foot pinkies at once, one on the hand line one on the rod.Had to hold the handline with his foot whilst dealing with the one on his rod.Welldone for a 75ish yo seadog.Another dingy brought 4 in and another 3.Lucky buggers.
The wind conditions/big swell didnt make for and beach fishing so it was sit around the campfire and tell stories and have a drink. So handy having Grahams brother with a farm next to Wellstead, ample supplies of mallee roots.Nice and relaxing if nothing else.
    REAL NICE SPOT!!!
Got home last nite, wish I was still there,Graz is staying till the weekend,LUCKY BUGGER!!!!

Sounds like a good weekend Andy, even if it was a bit rough for the boat. A bit better than doing house repairs in Kalgoorlie anyway.

Was down your way last Tuesday - drove back from Bunbury to here and stopped in Williams for a bite. Had a bit of a look around & spotted your old Landy's in the back yard behind the roadhouse - but you must have been out on the job somewhere.

    Maybe next time ................

Similar weather at the Dukes. Friday was good but we were in town picking upa mates new $65k centre cab trailcraft and did not get back to the Dukes until 5pm. Got the boats out Sat and was not bad. Did not catch many fish. Had porpoises play around the boat at speed for 15mins and get some great air. I had one come up along side me at chest height alongside the boat. Was at arms length.
Another boat got a 23kg Grouper, big fish. Sun and Mon were poor weather so only beach / rock fishing with only wrasse / cod and leather jacket caught.
Should start planning something for next Easter Andy / Graz.

Sounds like you had a great time Andrew

We just had a quiet one at home. Caught up on a few jobs that have fallen by the wayside.

Off to Perth tonight, but won't be anywhere near you until around midnight. Coming back Wednesday so I'll call you if we organise ourselves to get out early enough to drop by.
