Did I actually run a red light?!?

So i've received a fine... well... not just yet, it got sent to my mum in QLD but she is gonna fill out all the paper work to make sure the points get knocked off my license. Anyway, $220 for apparently running a set of red light on the intersection of stud rd and fern tree gully rd...

The thing is. I can't for the life of me remember running any red lights since i've been here in victoria!! I just don't do that! So what gives? Do you get hit if you sit too far past the solid line or what?

    Ask to see the picture.
There normally are 2 snaps taken X amount between shots. They can tell you how fast you were going!!!
Maybe operator error looking at the pic getting the rego no wrong or the other possability of dual plates!!!
GET A LOOK AT THE PIC BEFORE HANDING OVER THE $$$ AND SURRENDERING VALUABLE POINTS!!!!

Definately ask to see the picture.
I was hit with the same, went to see the picture as I wasn't in the area of the pic at the time, turned out it was a camo painted Landy110 ragtop with my plates on it(???) mine is a white D130 Dual Cab!!!!
But if you were in the area at the time, chances are it was you.
But might as well have a look at the picture.

That camera is also a speed camera. Maybe it is a speeding fine. I see many people flashed by it who are speeding but not going through a red light.

I was in the area unfortunately, so I don't doubt it being my car that was photographed, but usually when you run a red light you aim to... it's not something you do accidentally.

Then again I could have just forgotten the event entirely but geez it's annoying.

It might be worth a look, if you were turning right, and had to give way to someone who nearly ran the red opposite you, you would be stuck in the intersection, I have seen cameras flash in those circumstances.
    Could that be the problem?

There are turning arrows at that particular intersection.

Most red light cameras are triggered after a car has crossed the "thick white line" when the traffic light has changed to red. Sensors are under the paintwork and also further into the intersection

Another possibility for you not knowing about it is when the light is green for only a few seconds. Basically red, green, amber, red
I've been caught by this in the same area. I hardly noticed that it had gone red again, and got the fine...

Is there any truth in that you can "see" the photo for free if you go there, but have to pay to keep it?
