I've always worn belts so the loose end stick out to the left of the buckle, so if wearing a belt as above you feed it the other way.
nope, with a plaited Kangaroo leather belt you still wrap it around to the left then thread it back to the right, tuck it under and let the end hang.
Virtually a uniform in these parts with either Wranglers, Blue Dogs or if the Landed Gentry or a weekender from the City, RM's.

    seriously too.
Ah, but that's a different sort of belt. The brass (must be shined) bits that clip together have a male & female end - in this case the male is always right.

In a normal belt where a spike goes through the a hole (moving closer to the end of the belt as you get older) - always thread through to the left.

    Cack-Handed ?

Could it not also depend on whether one was right-handed or cack-handed ?

Looking from above, which is often the case when puting on a belt, a right-hander would tend to feed the belt anti-clockwise (holding the belt in their right), and a left-hander the opposite....

    No ?

I do it the wrong way I think it is because I am left handed. The logo on my RMs belt is upside down so I know it is wrong. I do it because I wear my Leatherman on the left.

Also wear my watch on my right hand.

Never really given it much thought before now, but I've always threaded L to R, I honestly think it would have more to do with the majority of the population being R/handed, and the forces just formalised it. They naturally then had to make it different for women. (like buttons on shirts)

I suppose a lot of the soft hand-shake, thread-to-the-right blokes would find you a right cutie in braces.
