Gold Coast & Environs - Travel advice sought
I've never been to the Gold Coast before, but in a couple of weeks we're taking the kids up for a holiday and a Sea World excursion - they're too young for the other theme parks.
Unfortunately I lost out and we have to fly, so I'll be without a Land Rover
. However we plan to hire a car for a few days and have a look around.
Bearing in mind that I won't have a Land Rover - what is there worth driving to and seeing in the surrounding countryside?
Also any recommendations on good car hire - except for the main players.
Thanks in advance, Michael

No idea on car hire.
But with a car, some easy but very nice bush walking. All these places have have short walks suitable for kids and O'Reilly's has a great sky walk. Beware thought the road is windy so car sick-prone kids are a worry!
Springbrook
Mt Tamborine
O'Reilly's
Tweed Valley
Hire a tinny on the broadwater, nerang river.
Locally there's the walk around Burleigh heads points, Currumbin sanctuary, Fleay's, Seaworld's good.
There's lots, have a look at the GC tourism sites.
Cheers.

Thanks for that. Winding roads are good
though it depends what kind of Hire Car I'm driving.
