Definitely a Yellow Faced Whip, mildly venomous, burning pain followed by an intense itch, feeds mainly on small skinks, not considered dangerous to humans.

I still have nightmares about an old James Bond movie where the baddies put a bad **** snake in Bond's bedroom & it made it's way onto the bed . Had a snake phobia ever since. Took months after watching that to be able to sleep! Give me a spider any time of the day!
Yeah inside. Its actually common to get tree snakes inside. I dont mind catching them all that much, but they're so very fast and such a nervous snake.
Does look like a whip snake a bit.
