I get hassled all the time when I drive the Series III. It was really getting on my nerves when Tony was away, as I drove it for 6 weeks. Whenever I pulled up anywhere, especially when filling up, or having just parked in a car park, the III seems to attract blokes like flies. I remember a few years ago I used to work at Parramatta & used to drive the III to work. Didn't finish work until 8pm. After one shift, I was sitting at a set of traffic lights, & a bloke jumped out of another car he was a passenger in & leapt in the back of the Series! (I didn't have the top on). He was rabbiting on & on, the lights changed so off we went! (Heavy traffic in Parramatta even at that hour!) He kept going on & on about the Landie & kept insisting I go to a party with him! Needless to say, I politely refused.
I also have the same problem driving my brother's Alfa Romeo. It's a 1974 Giulia - gorgeous little sports car that goes like the wind! Seems to have the same effect. Lost count of the blokes who drool all over it & the offers I've had from blokes who want to buy it!
So yea, it gets pretty damn annoying!
