    I know, when i get a chance i can use my old mans lathe to drill out the screw, but as they say time is what i dont have, got a 5yo's birthday party to organize and roofing to finish and ..................................................

    and those things only take 608 bearings, which cost bugger all.
    The only thing you'll have to watch when replacing the bearings is that sometimes the stator may move on the shaft when you give it a whack (soft faced hammer or brass drift) to pop the bearings off.

    The other alternative is to try CMG, they often have direct replacements for old Fasco/Betts motors that Fasco don't make any more, and they are often quite a bit cheaper than Fasco. 1300 888 853

    you're right, and these motors are shaded pole types, so aren't quite that fast either, with the 4 pole ones running approx. 1300 RPM
