Some pics of my Rover Turbo motor

Just thought i would post up some pics of my Rover 3500 SD1 Turbo V8.Looks a little messy in there but have since cleaned up the engine bay. Goes great, is on straight gas and has heaps of torque These are old photos but it runs a straight through 3 inch exhaust which sounds great!
Has a Toyota Supra 5spd because the Rover one s#$t itself.Runs 5 pounds of boost on a standard 3.9 V8 motor.Had a roll cage put in because i am going to club race it.It use to be my daily driver but now the Disco is.

Its a single Turbo..(T04) Has full boost by 1800 RPM which is great for that instant acceleration

Oh BABY! Now that's the stuff. Something I would love to one day do... But I would probably go the twin turbo option. Nice work though!

Im sure the power is nice, but OMG. The plumbing is scary, how on earth does it not overheat?

    Cheers!

I have heat shields for it which are not in the picture. They cover the turbo and exhaust manifolds.I found out the hard way after leaving the shield off the turbo.Left some nice bubbles on the top of the bonnet Funnily enough i never had any overheating issues.I use to drive it everyday up and down the Monash Freeway carpark in peak hour and it was fine.I also had some vents made to fit the bonnet which let any hot air out. That really helped alot.It has been the most reliable Rover V8 motor ive owned.Plus being on gas it was very economical.Heavy driving and i could get just over 400km out of a tank.Wish i could do that in the Disco
