Maybe it's been put there on purpose.....
why restore when you can have it transfigured![]()
For those misguided people who are Jaguar rebuilders & restorers, there is a Daimler badged Jaguar unregistered & dumped in Agnew St. Norman Park, Qld.
next to the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration.
NSW reg. AI67GP, expired early Dec. 2007. It has been there since before Christmas. Storm debris built up around the wheels in the gutter. Reg. sticker calls it a Jaguar sedan. Has not yet got a City Council abandoned vehicle warning sticker on it. Looks complete and not too bad, bit untidy outside.

Out of curiousity does anyone know of the policy on this. I assume you dont just rock on up with a trailer and say finders keepers. I know the missus would kill me but i have always liked the older jags![]()
unfortunately you can't as the police still view that as stealing, i asked when there was a rangie dumped at kedron last year which had a winch on it - strangely when I pointed this out to the council bloke - the rangie was gone within the day

I think you can go one of 2 ways, the first is that you use the rego details and track down the owner and ask/buy it from them. The second is that you go to the council but I'm not fully sure of the process.
Councils can not remove the vehicle until the number plates are off the vehicle. This is a Police matter.
Weren't the Daimler versions of the MkII Jaguars V8s where the Jags were 6 cyl?

Addit: How presumptive of me thinking it was a Daimler car.

Brisbane City Council go through a process of inspecting the vehicle once reported, door knocking or box dropping nearby and putting a warning sticker on the vehicle. After 7 days they inspect again and put an Abandoned Vehicle Notice on the vehicle and after another 7 days and it is still there, they arrange to have it towed away to a storage yard, advertise it as an abandoned vehicle, and after another statutory period, advertise again in a list of abandoned vehicles to be auctioned. If someone puts their hand up as the owner and says it is not abandoned they cop a $150 fine for parking an unregistered vehicle on a public road and must move it virtually immediately. The period from first notification to tow away is generally about 4-6 weeks.

Not quite, well not in Brisbane anyway.
If it's out of rego (expired) and parked on the street, council do the following:It is nigh on impossible now for an individual to legally find the last registered owner. QT/RTA etc won't release the info due to privacy laws.
- Investigate & Stick a notice on the car (abandoned etc), they are given ten 10 days to move it
- After that council can take it away.
- They do a search and send a letter to the last registered owner advising they have 14 days to collect
- If not collected it is stored for 1 mth
- Notice is put in the paper and if still unclaimed, vehicle is sent to auction
My advice.....if you want it, put a note on it for a fortnight, try and contact the previous owner by checking details from the glovebox or any paperwork inside it
If nothing found.....grab a trailer![]()
Of course, it may not be abandoned, but stolen and have been used in a robbery or murder elsewhere![]()
