I did have an exceedy heavy duty clutch in mine when I first picked up my truck (1998 300tdi 130) from the previous owner...it shudded up hills from first gear take off and was very hard to drive. I got rid of it and went back to genuine.....so much smoother now.

Also make sure your slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder are up to scratch as these can affect pedal feel as well.

Just interested to know, was your flywheel machined when you fitted the new Genuine clutch?

Well I ended up ordering an Outback heavy duty clutch

Anyone had much experience with them? Was about $100 dearer than a Valeo heavy duty

Just had the boys at MR Auto replace my clutch with a Valeo Heavy duty along with a heavy duty fork machine flywheel replace rear main seal.
