    What can I say!

ADM333 (David) PMed me the other day to say that his FIL, Brian, who is a champion orchid breeder DUNO Home ) wanted to name one of his orchids after my late son, Lee aka Bucko.

    David said:

The plant in question won an award as the best Australasian Hybrid last weekend at the Newcastle Native Group Autumn show.

Apparently there is a particular naming convention to be followed and the suggestion from Brian is D. Bucko “Beckett”

D indicates it is a Dendrobium.

Elisabeth and I are totally gob-smacked. His sister is amazed!

We don't know how to thank Brian and David but I had to share this with you.

    Here are the pics:

Well, I know nothing about flowers, but that sounds like both a very thoughtful thing to do, and an nice way to be remembered.

That is a very nice gesture. That's a manly looking orchid too, he'd have to be happy with that.

A good friend's late father was an avid orchid grower, his little bush house was fascinating, a great variety and always spotless.

ya gotta say that is a great gesture and a beautiful orchid, and Bucko would think that's ok too, it's rare, a champion in its field [pun intended]
i bet he would have thought differently if you wanted to name a pansy after him!!!

    and so would you.

so where and when can we buy a D Bucko Beckett orchid?
    Safe Travels
