Sounds dodgy. Except that the current F250 is the same.
No I mean the outer guards - and not the bumper or the flares - and I mean plastic - not fibreglass

    RRC

    Steel:

    Inner gaurds
    the body shell
    Rear tailgate upper AND lower
    Bonnet
    Door inners
    Rear quarter ends

    Aluminium:

    Bonnet inner panel
    Front gaurds
    Doorskins, both 2n4 door
    Roof
    Rear quarters

D1 is much the same aside from tailgate, aluminium skin, steel inner frame. steel roof and aluminium bonnet and they're uglier

The key is the DO rust, only from the inside out

So the lower tailgate on yours was steel also??? interesting...

About 10 pre-production rangies had ally bonnets, then they changed to steel because it wasn't stiff enough. Strange that they bothered changing back for the disco. But the bonnet did have more shape to add stiffness.

What rock have you been under??? - that was in all the press releases when the D1 came out - I did some tapping on the panels at a motorshow to verify.
