As a parent and a 4wd owner, I would like to know how the information in this thread assists me and my Land Rovers or that of the Land Rover community?

Besides, my children's school has had a full computer room with one PC per child for the last few years with the funds and upgrades provided by the schools families and fundraising.

This was not a fedrally funded scheme, but the desicion of the principle, teachers and parents.

I get you didn't vote Labour, half the internet knows.

Are you saying that it's Mr Rudds responsibilty that the next generation of Australian's should be computer literate? I think this would be the responsibilty of the childrens parents, not the sole responsibilty of some figure head for the government.

Last time I looked the pm didn't help my kids with their homework, assignments or get them to brush their teeth or wipe their bums properly.

Does he help you with yours?

When the time comes I will gladly provide my children with their own P.C's. For it is my responsibility as a loving parent.

Don't have kids, don't see why l have to pay for someone else kids either, no one is paying me anything and no one is giving me a helping hand, l am tired of the welfare state and its nanny mentality and native welfare industry.

If Govt wanted to do something to help families reform the tax system stop subsidising inefficient industries, provide tax incentives for people working as its their disposal incomes which fuel this economy and employs us.

Families want to buy kids a computer get the Govt to provide a tax write off over 3 years for the parent and let them buy what they want or need.

I care. More money to pay out bye a promis that the costs were hidden. But then I didn't think they would actually supply every student with a computer. I saw it as the same as the free health care for our military's dependents promis.

Would you could upgrade to a supersized Mc Rant for $1 extra?

As a serving member, they had better honour this one....I know plenty of commando types and ninja thong wearers who would be happy to visit their local members office. The trial in Townsville has been 'amended' as it is costing too much and they can't get doctors. Our 'trial' in BNE has been postponed..

And they are bringing us home from Iraq, the best match practice we have had in 30 years

... lets not forget little Johnny's billion+ dollar content filter - hands up anyone who actually uses it? Who knows where it is or how to get it?

Did you really believe they'd put a computer into every classroom for free? Computers - like everything else - cost $$$

Sheesh earlier today in another thread people were complaining about changes to the budget which brought in more tax money - ie. an increase in luxury car tax.

Now people are complaining that they're spending money to better enable our kids for the future... please tell me, how can they win? I'd much rather hear reasonable conjecture and constructive ideas then what has been presented so far.......
