    Hydroponics.. any advice ?

    Hi all
I'm just getting into hydroponics for growing veges at home and wondering if anyone else is using it, and if anyone has advice on different systems, techniques I'd appreciate it.

Not in any way LR related but i'm sure i can find a connection somewhere .

I thought the same! Here in SA the the next associated thought with hydroponics is bikies, who can sometimes pay a visit to see how your vegeis are coming along.......

I have no idea to what you are referring.

No seriously it is for veges.
Hydroponics is really mainstream now- 90% of the veges like tomatoes and lettuces and other "green vege" you buy now are hydroponically grown.
They reckon it'll be the only way to feed the world's population in the future.
I'm told with a greenhouse and using hydroponics I can extend the growing season to almost all of the year, here in Vic.
So any advice on set ups guys ?

    Don't drink the water. maaaan

I think a greenhouse would be a cheaper option, the power consumption of a hydro setup is the main concern, there is no real way of SAPS generating the amount of power needed to run heat lamps continuously, so like stated you bypass the meter or something stupid like pay $20/tomato
