    Snake bite!!

I got bitten by a snake yesterday it was a marsh snake (also known as swamp snake) i was riding my bike behind our place on a bush track when i saw him, being a snake fan (we keep and bread snakes) i ran straight up to him and grabbed him by the tail well,he didn't have any tail left because it looked like he had been run over by a car so i had him more by the body.He calmed rite down after a while and i could hold him without any probs so i carried him home and as i was walking up the drive way he decided to bite me on the pinky finger
I put him in a container and got the snake book out and it said they are poisonous but not dangerous.
It got very swolen and bruised.
Today it is still swolen and the venom has travelled to half of my hand but not once have i felt sick.
It was pretty stupid holding a snake like that but anyway...
Pretty lucky it wasn't a brown

Just thought i would share that with you!

Glad you're OK - but the marsh snake also has a little known side effect - it may mess with your spelling!

You're a braver man than me, Gunga Din!

Did you go to the doctor anyway? I hope so and I hope all is OK.

Oh, where are the pics of the snake and your hand?

the general consensus of opinion is to IDENTIFY the snake before you pick it up.
