Now have a few hundred kms under the tyres and am overnighting in Hay.

Bought an Aussie navman , and fully expected it to take me the northern route via Dubbo, Cobar and Wincarnia to BH. It sent me the southern route via Wagga. Should have know not to trust GPS system. Can not find out how to see what route it has planned yet. A navigator looking at a map would have proved useful!

Anyway it looks like this POM has brought the rain with him because it is belting down here. Fantastic sheet lightning storm and tumbleweed blowing across road.

If you want to start chilling beers off am in Adelaide/Melbourne area in early June. Back in Sydney late July, then head up coast past Brisbane towards Cape York. Darwin area probably around September.

    Regards

Gladstone is on route from Brisvegas to the Cape. PM me a couple of days before hand and you can stop over for a beer.

    Cheers Foz.

Tent now set up at Broken Hill race course. The route which the Aussie sat nav sent me was certainly the scenic route! Sydney, Wagga Wagga, Hay Ivanhoe and on to Broken Hill.

The dirt road was fun. Can see how they would be 'interesting' after a lot of rain/heavy traffic. Completely different to Sxcandinavian dirt roads which tend to be graded gravel.

My mates UK vehicles cleared Sydney customs this morning! Cock up on paper work delayed them in Holland for 10 days, then no berth at Sydney did not help. Ho hum they will get here in time for the start of the competition but it is not the best start to the challenge event for them.

Hope to be able to post some photos in a weeks time.

    Regards

    Brendan
