Grrrrrrr!!!!! Landrover parts???
I have just had my 07 Defender at MLR getting some warranty work done. I was also after some spares to take with me when I head off in June for 3 months. Part of the warranty work was the bonnet cable was broken. Parts not available for bonnet. I was also after, to take with me, air cleaner, oil filter, fuel filter, radiator hoses and some clips for the interior moldings that I have removed (to me, the clips looked the same as my old defender). NONE of these parts are available. MLR will get back to me when they are How the can Landrover be selling these cars for 6 months and not have filters etc. in stock. Bit of a worry to be heading off and not being sure of parts availability.

Go to a Repco or Bursons store and order in the filters etc that you need. At least you'll be able to have them when you go.

Yup,
Sounds familiar. 4 - 5 weeks wait to book in for a service! Slave cylinder on clutch shot (Td5 - 50,000k) and none in stock..... another two weeks later......(7 weeks pumping the clutch GRRRRRRR. )
Service and support is letting Land Rover down. Perhaps the "Golden" era of caring about your cutomers is long gone. Can't wait til I book in for a service and get a little Indian voice....
"Dank you for calling Landrover your call is of walue, If you vould like a serwice press 1..."
That Rubicon is looking better all the time. (Did I type that or just think it?)

hahaha, this was my experience too. It is not funny for you I'm sure but I feel blessed that I was not the only one! I had to wait up to 6 weeks for parts for mine and even ordered my oil filters online from UK because they had none here.
It will be at least 12 months before all the parts are here. The worst thing is even the known problems don't have parts available here so you have to wwait at least a week when things go bang.

Have a look at Rimmer Bros, Parts Spares & Accessories for Triumph MG Rover Land Rover Discovery Freelander Defender Range Rover & Rover SD1 these guys in the UK sell all over the world and prices and stock are always excellent.
1 example, a D2 SLS Compressor here is $900, they have it for GBP230 (plus shipping and the good conversion rate nearly 2:1) about $550 landed.
I'd also be checking "British 4WD" in Tassie before you go to a "Stealer".

Just bought a set of radiator hoses from Evilbay for the D1.
$72.00. I noticed that a LR retailer was selling same items, lower @ $127 and upper @ $67.
Appears to be a slight difference in price
