I think I am getting very close to my dream rover.
    It is now double locked.
The gearing on thing is very good and will allow normal cruising speeds.(overdrive)
    I like the militiary looks.
    Great ground clearence as stock.
Tough as nails and much stronger than a normal rover.
    Engine driven compressor.
    LP Gas
PTO winch (works front and rear with extra long cable standard)
No legal hassles with vehicle height .
I have extra jerry cans and tool box.
    Fantastic payload.
Simple design with few of the normal rover access and reliablility draw backs
    Great V8 sound
The large truck air horn has been the best thing ( for safety reasons of course)
I like the room in the back and it sleeps two people with gear inside.
The small out side dimensions is fantastic too.
In the long term only a bigger rover V8 motor and a roof top tent are the only improvements I really need to make.
Just thinking some modern tyres and flexiable suspension would top it off.
You could really go crazy with things like power steering and disc brakes, but a 101 is all about being a man and not a mouse.

Now that looks like a proper LR Ron. Would love to get my hands on one of those. Just wondering what it would look like with some "bling" wheels.
    Cheers .........

Definitely not a colour you'd see every day, but it suits. Brilliant looking job - love the custom bar work and stainless grille & trim.
    Cheers .........

    Nice job Cooper.

I'll be content when I finish fixing up the D1.
Although that G4 Challenge D3 is VERY nice.

Dream Land Rover.. purely as a play thing..

    It has to be:

Getting a little more practical.... my current D2a with a few more years of improvements and we will get there...

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most

2015 TDV6 D4.... the latest project... Llams, Traxide, Icom 455, Tuffant Kimberleys and Mofos.... so far.
2012 SDV6 SE D4 with some stuff... gone...
    2003 D2a TD5...gone...
    2000 D2 V8...gone...

1954 86inch would be doing me just fine,

Or maybe an 80inch that I have my eye on in a farmers paddock
