    D3 Aftermarket accessories

    G'day all,

I am about 5 days from getting me D3 and am looking at some accessories for it but need some advice...

    • Retaining the 18's but getting some decent AT's that dont rub, dont mess with any geometry, has decent off road grip and not too noisy...
    • Need some snow chains, any thoughts on where to buy some that arent CRAZY prices?
    • Want a snorkel - My Def had a safari type, just wondering what works and looks best on the D3
I got a few more bits and pieces but will wait till I get it before digging too deep...

Thanks for any comments in advance...

    Safari - Snorkels

As for Tyres this can get personal between every one have read a few different web sites and due to the amount of tyre brands and different styles in brands there is a wide range of discussion on what is best. With the D2 and RRS I have seen a number of comments as to keep your 18" rims for road and purchase 17' aftermarket alloys and fit allterain tyres on these for off road use. If you do a search (Discovery 3 all terrain tyres) you will get some sites to read do some reaserch. I have Perilli scorpion Allterains 245/70R16 on my D1 and they have been excellent but this does not mean that they would be the correct choice for a D3 in the correct tyre size for you, some tyres suit some vehicles and not others

The most common AT for D3 18" wheels is the AT2 from General Tyres. Robust and not too noisy.

Yokahama Geolanders are also available for the D3 in 18".
Only snorkel is the Safari. The LR one is a raised air intake and doesn't replace the porsous hose between the guard and the air box.
    Snow Cains? NFI, sorry.
