At least that's what the dealer used to say to me - about leaks, noises, poor fitting bits etc.
Now (at 10yo) I tend to think a bit that way as well.
But in reality it's bloody inexcusable for a $50k vehicle, and IMHO LR couldn't give a stuff about defender owners (not sure how the rest fare)

Spot on mate - the scratches you get bashin are just not the same as this. I'd be totally ****ed. Come to think of it, I was when my dealer did the same to my vehicle.
Sorry to hear mate - I know this is a warranty thing, but I keep whispering, MR, MR........MR.
Let's do another 07 day again soon, with JohnR, and get you over it. :(
We took ours to the dealer to swop the centre dash panel they scratched fitting the driving light switch on the pdi, later it went in for the first service and they dented the wing tops, total lack of respect for peoples property.
As others have said , this is why I would never buy a new vehicle , all the BS you have to put up with.
Yes, being a Defender I tend to be a bit schizophrenic when it comes to damage. If I do it, then so be it - thems the breaks. But if the dealer does it, then that's just not on. I put up the cash to buy a new vehicle, and I therefore have the right to expect it to remain that way for as long as possible.
In the case of my woes, whilst I admit the things I complain about are quite trivial, it's the sheer clumsiness and failure to see things that are out of place before returning the vehicle that stumps me.
Well I picked up my disco 2 after it's 90k service and all they did is change the oil, not even the filter was changed. Can they do anything right????
Sorry to hear mate.
To be honest we had many similar stories. The car is pretty well sorted now, but there was much trouble along the way. I don't miss it at all. At this point, 0.0 recurring chance of me volunteering to go through that again.
Mod hat on.
Folks, let's stick to AULRO rules - no naming names.
