I'd like to know more about what dobbo has said.

I know a large amount of money has been allocated for roadworks in the area including Wambo Forest Road. Is this what the closures are for?

The problem for us is that vehicular tracks in National Parks have to be "public access" standard. I interpret that as must be suitable for the family corrola. If they can't justify the cost to bring tracks up to this standard, they close them.

However walking tracks can be all grades from wheel chair accessible to difficult.

No, the area south, to beyond the old Jilliby Scout Camp is now NP.

Edit: You could be right about the area along Walkers Ridge to the Basin - I have no current knowledge of changes out that way.

Yes that area is part of NP, it's the Jiliby State Conservation area.

Dobbo is this a permanent closure or is NPWS rebuilding tracks.

Demarkation tape reading danger no entry over the tracks around the Pines camping areas, Slippery Rock rd has been fenced off for ages, I haven't been South but have heard through the grapevine that the same has happened down Daniels Rd area. I'll check that out tommorow. Honestly I don't know if it's a permanent thing or just for grading/regeneration of the tracks. Anyone shed some light on this?

My understanding of an OGJON its a gnome like creature that lives on weetbix and its natural preditor is the dingo and it habitats the eastern foot hills of the watagans

I think the NSW subspecies diet consists mostly of jaffles, Weetbix is drought fodder alternative.

NP were recently allocated $700,000 to repair damage in the Watagans that resulted from the June 2007 storm.

My guess is they have started those works. But .....
