$20 will buy you last years Melways at the newspaper kiosk on the bridge between Telstra Dome and Spencer St at Souther Cross station.

I would not waste my money on UBD.

This thread is awfully familiar to a Toy/Missen versus Land rover thread.

Totally agree - and last year's Melway is a big improvement on this year's UBD. (I haven't lived in Melbourne for fifteen years, but still visit often - my newest Melways is 2001)

When I did the Christmas Tree deliveries last year ( Oxfam ) I got a new Melways for free - very pleasant surprise.

As others have said, I think that it's a matter of what you're used to.

In Sydney, UBD has been the "standard" for years. When I looked at Sydway, I didn't like it.

I suspect that, if you're used to Melways, you won't like UBD.

    Best Wishes,

    Best Wishes,
Having lived in Melbourne for 22 years, when I moved to NSW I looked round for a decent street directory for Sydney, and eventually found Sydways!
(I was brought up in Sydney on Gregory, then Refidex in Brisbane, before Melbourne)
