Thread: More Ham-Fisted Workmen..

I had some work done on my deefer some years ago by a very well known independant LR specialist in Sydney, I will stress here that IT WAS NOT G. COOPER!!

Among other things they removed the seals in the axles to allow oil into the wheel bearings, a common proceedure and in it's self quite good. HOWEVER.... I now have to replace the rear disc rotors. This is an easy task that I can perform myself except for the fact that the hub lock nuts, which are supposed to be tightened to 65Nm and have the washer bent over one flat to prevent loosening, are done up to approximately 1065Nm with a rattle gun. No need to bend the washer!!
So far I have deformed the square drive in my tube spanner and strained several muscles in an attempt to undo the @#$%^& things.
I am now forced to pay a mechanic to do a job I should have been able to do myself.
What if I was in the middle of the Simpson Dessert?????

I will be forwarding a copy of the mechanics bill and a request for re-imbursment.
