If you were to cut down 5 or more trees then they would have a case but you wont find 1 case where someone has knocked 1 tree in their yard and the council has been succesful in charging them.
It is just annoying and they drag it out so that when they send out their "fine" then you cant be bothered with fighting it and just pay it.

We had 2 20 tonners and a 15 tonner doing some tree work a while ago, if I could post vids I would but 1x20t had a single tine ripper ripping out the roots and the 15t was knocking them over while the other 20t had a claw sort of thing that ripped the wood to pieces and then dumped it in the chipper.
We were really lucky, one of the local comercial garden suppliers wanted the chips for east link so we got rid of the stuff straight away for nothing.
And like I said, use Garlon.....

It's absurd. People THINK they own their land, but think again, because you can't do diddly squat without the government's permission. Bureaucratic rubbish, makes me soooo angry! You pay so much money for a property, not to mention the stamp duty, etc, etc, you'd think you could do what you damn well please.
