    AN IDEA ON HOW TO LOWER THE COST OF OIL

    What a brilliant idea I dont see anything wrong with it

    Seems simple to me.

    OPEC sells oil for $128.00 a barrel.

    OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.

    Solution: Sell grain for $128.00 a bushel.

    Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!

    Then, the price of oil will come down.

    Hehe,

    I like the idea but somehow it's dramatically flawed.

    There's not a lot of substitutes at the moment for a barrel (or million) of oil, but there's lots of substitutes for grain. Rice, potatoes, corn, etc.

    The real trick would be to make an engine run on water. Then the demand for oil will be limited to the manufacture of plastics, chemicals and other products that are not consumed at a rate of 20 litres per 100 kms like my V8....

    A large drop in the price of oil would throw the US into recession. All those A-hole speculators would loose heaps with all the oil they have bought and stock piled. Hm-mm

    I figure that if you use all of the Hiclones, fuel ionisers, air tracts, exhaust doo hickys, electric turbos, jingle jangles and bo peeps that you can have a Tdi putting out 500hp and actually making petrol!

    Seems to me that a couple of things needed are the inclusion of elementary science and basic economics in the core school curriculum!

    (Think law of conservation of mass/energy and law of supply and demand)

    theyd have to drop 4 unit ancient dung bettle mythology and 3 unit Mongolian bellybutton lint collecters out of the education system to fit in fundamentals of maths and chemistry.

    Of course they could form a Senate committee to establish a sub committee to create a forum of experts to review the feasability of the introduction of a new learning system that focuses the tax payers money on fundamental education but then again findings such a that would be labelled as extremist, end up in a high court constitutional crisis with the need to introduce South American belly button lint collectors in the name of diversity.

    All the science i dont understand its just my job five days a week
