Thumbs up LPG dual fuel conversion - two thumbs up for AG Autogas

On Saturday, I had just received my 1986 RR Hiline back from it's mostly-government-sponsored ($2000 of $2850) LPGas dual fuel conversion by AG Autogas in Lilydale.

Apart from losing half the boot space from the 90 litre tank, I can barely tell the difference in the driving. The note is slightly different at full throttle with some revs up, but still drives great! I was a bit apprehensive about it as I've driven some dual fuel vehicles that were shocking on gas.
Best of all, cold starts are better than they ever have been - starts immediately on first turn of the key, rather than requiring at least 4-5 seconds of cranking like before when it was just running straight petrol.

John was very pleasant to deal with and more than helpful with all my questions (I'd never even filled up at LPG tank at the petrol station before Saturday -was quite exciting...). The main reason I chose to go with them was because of their knowledge and experience with Land Rovers, which I had gathered after the first phone conversation. John runs 2 LSE's (God help him.....), and reckons he's converted everything from P38's to Disco's to 101's.

So if anyone in Melbourne is considering making use of the Government grant to run your rover on barbie fuel, I'd highly recommend the guys at AG Autogas A.G. Autogas Conversions - Home

You'll be happy with it long term I'm sure.

Currently my Disco1 costs approx $13/100km on LPG or $28.80/100km on ULP.

Just approximate but that would be very close.

    Wowzers!

LPG is usually 20-22l/100km.. at local price thats around $20.00/100km

Still a decent saving as the FedGov keeps paying rebate

Utemad, you must give me the details of your installation
I have always wanted another installer or specialist to look over mine as I get nowhere near your numbers.

    Cheers

My LPG cost is based on 63c as that is what it costs in my area. Just got back from Bundaberg and paid 82c there. Didn't write down the figures on the trip as I kept forgetting and then thinking 'I'll do it next tank'

My LPG setup was fitted by Carb and Gas in Wolloongabba.

Nothing special about the setup. It is a Landi unit (the model number is in a post on here somewhere). I fiddled with the tune since so it isn't how they left it. I've recently got the electronic advance unit I bought off Ron working to my liking so the timing is at 10d on the dizzy and +6 on the unit.
